Audi started the 6 Hours of Nürburgring from positions one and two on the grid. In a thrilling battle for the lead in round four of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the two Audi R18 cars initially took turns at the front of the field. In the end, Audi Sport Team Joest achieved positions two and three – a caution period in the third hour of the race having deprived the squad of the chance to clinch its second victory of the season.

Impressive performance in qualifying in the Eifel: Marcel Fässler (CH) and André Lotterer (D) in the Audi R18 clinched grid position one in round four of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). With a gap of only 26 hundredths of a second Lucas di Grassi (BR) and Oliver Jarvis (GB) in the sister car number 8 directly trailed them.

The 24 Hours of Spa is the major iconic event on the international GT3 racing calendar. This year, the race will be held from 30 to 31 July. Audi is now going to meet with fierce competition again and is represented by more customer racing teams than ever before. The brand with the four rings has won three of the past five editions and clinched the ‘Coupe du Roi’ manufacturers’ cup in 2014 and 2015.

07/17/16 Zandvoort Netherlands The Audi Sport TT Cup celebrated a tremendous premiere at Zandvoort. In the Audi one-make cup’s first visit to the Dutch North Sea coast, the Dane Nicklas Nielsen and Sheldon van der Linde from South Africa triumphed. The Dutch Prince Bernhard van Oranje contested the races in the guest entrants’ classification and finished on podium twice – ahead of ski stars Adrien Théaux (F) and Peter Fill (I).

07/17/16 Zandvoort Netherlands Following the disappointment on Saturday, Audi impressively came back in the second of the two DTM races at Zandvoort (Netherlands). Jamie Green (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) celebrated a commanding victory on Sunday. Edoardo Mortara (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) completed Audi’s triumph with a third place.

07/16/16 Zandvoort Netherlands Jamie Green in the Hoffmann Group Audi RS 5 DTM of Audi Sport Team Rosberg took fifth place as the best Audi driver in the first of the two DTM races at Zandvoort (Netherlands). Mattias Ekström in the Red Bull Audi RS 5 DTM of Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline finished in the top ten as well. On his teammate Edoardo Mortara a drive-through penalty with severe consequences was imposed which proved unjustified after the race.

Owing to the retirement of the leading Toyota on the last lap, the Audi R18 #8 of the last driver in the car Lucas di Grassi and his team-mates Loic Duval Jarvis made it to the podium.
Hence Audi Clinched at least one podium in each of the eighteen years that it has contested the LeMans race.
  

The Audi R18 #7 was promoted by one position, too. Marcel Fässler, Benoît Tréluyer and André Lotterer moved up to fourth place.
